The Journal of International Security Affairs is the flagship publication of the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA). JINSA is a non-profit, non-partisan educational organization based in Washington, D.C. It is dedicated to explaining the need for a prudent national security policy for the United States, addressing the security requirements of both the United States and the State of Israel, and strengthening the strategic cooperation relationship between these two great democracies.

The Journal's Editor is Ilan Berman. Mr. Berman is Vice President at the American Foreign Policy Council in Washington, D.C., and an expert on regional security in the Middle East, Central Asia and the Russian Federation. A frequent contributor to leading newspapers and scholarly journals, he is a member of the reconstituted Committee on the Present Danger. Mr. Berman can be reached at .

The Journal's Deputy Editor is Jim Colbert. Mr. Colbert is Director for Policy at the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs in Washington, D.C. and an expert on Middle East military affairs, U.S.-India relations, and the Caucasus.

Submission Policy

The Journal of International Security Affairs accepts original submissions on topics relating to foreign affairs and global security.

Prospective essays should be between 3,000 and 5,000 words, written in an engaging, analytical style. The number of footnotes/endnotes should be limited, and those that are included should comport with the Chicago Manual of Style.

The Editorial review process typically takes between 4 and 6 weeks. Because of the volume of submissions received by The Journal, we regret that only materials accompanied by appropriate postage can be returned.

The Editor will review all submitted manuscripts, but assumes no responsibility regarding them.
